The Portuguese Surf School Association (AESDP) has just launched its Coach Platform, in which duly accredited surfing coaches can register to make themselves known to the schools.
The training context of surf coaches in Portugal has been undergoing considerable changes, in the context of changes to the National Coach Training Program of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ). In recent years, an increasing number of coaches have been trained, for whom it is important to create strategies for a quick transition to the world of work. Surf schools, in turn, have had difficulties in finding these duly accredited professionals to respond to their needs, especially in the summer period.
In this sense, to respond to the time that is approaching, AESDP launched the Coach Platform, a tool that allows these professionals to approach the employing surf schools, making an important contribution to the generation of employment in this sector.
All coaches holding a valid IPDJ Coach Card will be able to register on this platform, to which AESDP associate members will have exclusive access. The platform will include, among others, the trainers' CVs, place of residence and surfing and coaching experience. Thus, interested surf schools will be able to contact these professionals directly, and vice versa, for job offers according to their needs.
Registration involves the payment of a single fee of €5, for the management and maintenance of the platform, and must be done in the Coaches section of the AESDP website.
