
WHO WE ARE
The Portuguese Surf School Association was created to respond to the current national context of rapid growth of waveriding activities, through the implementation of sustainability principles in the management and regulation of these activities.
It is a non-profit association founded and managed by surf school owners, which intends to be the voice of this commercial sector in Portugal. In a time of constant changes to the regulatory context of surf operators, AESP appears as the first entity invested in defending the interests of these companies.
Our operation is centered in a constant articulation with the regulatory bodies throughout the country, with the intent of guaranteeing a fair and balanced commercial context, focused on the supply of quality and safe services.
MISSION
AESP is the first and only non-profit association to function professionally, full-time, in representation and protection of the interests of operators and professionals in the surf education sector in Portugal.
VISION
Through a coordination with the bodies responsible for the management and regulation of waveriding activities, the AESP will contribute to a greater sustainability and safety of this sector in the future.
OBJECTIVES

Promote the well-being in the national beaches, guaranteeing the safety of every beach users, with a focus and through surfing in the Portuguese coast.

Developing surfing as a quality national tourism product.

Advocate for the justice and transparency between competitors which promote the learn-to-surf activities.

Promote an effective and sustainable regulatory context for the operation of surf schools.

Develop specific training programs to our associated members and other surf schools and coaches, in line with the national and European guidelines.
