SURF & RESCUE
Training done in partnership between the Portuguese Surf Schools Association (AESP) and the National Lifesaving Institute (ISN), aiming to strenghten the connection between surfing and lifesaving.
It is common knowledge that Surf Schools and Coaches play an important role in the safety and rescue around the beaches in Portugal, as well as the whole surfing community. In fact, these are some of the main agents of safety out of the bathing season. However, many surfers do not have the proper knowledge of rescue techniques, first aid and Basic Life Support, and in most cases these rescues are not registered.

SURF AND TOURISM ANIMATION
Training aiming to pass on to surf coaches the fundamental concepts of tourism, management, marketing, and sustainability, which will allow them to adapt their services to tourists. Despite toursim being the main service for most surf coaches, their training has mainly a sports basis. This course allows them to complement their original, basic training of sports coaches.

COACHES TRAINING

PROJECT 'MELHOR TURISMO 2020'
The Portuguese Surf School Association (AESP) is promoting, until 31-12-2022, a project financed by the Confederation of Tourism of Portugal (CTP) through Portugal 2020, of TRAINING and CONSULTING for surf companies, in partnership with the training and consulting entity Biosphere Portugal, within the scope of the Melhor Turismo 2020 program.
Main information:

This project is intended for companies operating in the North, Center or Alentejo regions – if they do not have their headquarters in one of these regions, they must prove that they are active in one of the regions;

Due to the current situation, we decided to share the cost that companies would have to participate. Thus, participation in the project is free, subject to a commitment to participate in at least 95% of the training and consultancy hours ;

Participation in the project allocates the 3 IPDJ credit units necessary for the revalidation of coaches' certificates.
Intervention areas:

Resource management and Digital Economy: 72 hours of consultancy + 48 hours of training;

Implementation and Certification of Good Sustainability Practices Management System: 60 hours of consultancy + 40 hours of training.
