AESDP STARTS THE PATH TO THE SUSTAINABLE PLANNING OF SURF IN PENICHE

The Portuguese Surf School Association (AESDP) was this weekend in Peniche, where it met with some of the main local agents to discuss the planning of schools and the sustainability of surfing in the Municipality.

Following the work that has been developed by AESDP in defense of the regulation and ordering of the activity of surf schools with agents throughout the national coast, the Association was this weekend in Peniche, where operators have multiplied to accelerated pace, leading to an urgent need for measures to be taken to ensure the safety of users.

AESDP met with the Captain of the Port of Peniche, the local club, representatives of surf schools and local surfers. The meeting with the highest authority of the Captaincy stands out, the entity responsible for organizing the activity on the beaches, which gave rise to the commitment to prepare a document by the AESDP containing concrete proposals to effectively regulate and organize this activity. So that these proposals meet the perspectives of all local agents, the Association will hold a public session in Peniche next month to debate the possible measures to be implemented, where the participation of all those involved will be essential.

AESDP leaves a special thanks to Peniche Surf Camp and the Peniche Surf Schools and Surf Camps Association for all their involvement and support during the weekend. The date of the debate and consultation of agents will be announced shortly.
