Registration is now open for the latest surfing coaches course recognized by the IPDJ, this time with the Australians from the Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI) as the training entity.

ASI is a widely recognized entity in the training of surf instructors and coaches around the world, since 2003. The ASI surf instructor training allows working in various destinations outside Europe and now the new course launched is also recognized by the IPDJ attributing the Grade I of Surfing Coaches.

The first course will be taught in b-learning format, will take place in Sagres and will start on the 9th of September. The general component of the training will be done online, while the specific component will be face-to-face and taught over a week (September 23rd to 28th).

Participation in this course will attribute the following to all participants who successfully complete it:

  • IPDJ Certified Surfing Coaches Grade I;

  • ASI Safety and Rescue Certificate for Surfing Instructors – valid for 2 years;

  • Membership as Associate Coaches of the Portuguese Surf School Association (AESDP) – valid for 1 year.

Participants will also have the opportunity to obtain the ASI Level 1 Surfing Instructor certificate, valid to work in other parts of the world including Australia.
