LAST SURF & RESCUE OF 2021 TOOK PLACE IN MATOSINHOS



Agudela beach received, on November 7, the last training in surfing and water rescue in 2021. The 2nd edition of Surf & Rescue was present in Ovar, Machico, Aljezur, Figueira da Foz and Matosinhos, with the support from the respective Municipalities.


The initiative of the Association of Surf Schools of Portugal (AESDP), which has a partnership with the Instituto de Socorros a Náufragos (ISN), since its inception in September 2020, has already had the possibility of carrying out 8 training sessions in different areas. from the national coast. In 14 months of Surf & Rescue, more than 160 people were able to learn, for free thanks to the support of local authorities, how to provide adequate support for aquatic rescue.


Surf & Rescue, which has just finished its 2nd edition, has as its main objective to be able to equip, at the level of the latest rescue techniques, first aid and Basic Life Support, those who are on the front line throughout the year. The training, designed for the entire surfing community, also allowed all the Coaches who participated to receive 1.4 credit units for the renewal of their IPDJ coaches' cards.


In 2022, Surf & Rescue will return with a 3rd edition, as AESDP considers surfing and water rescue training to be extremely important for the community and feedback from participants has been very positive.
