NEW TRAINING AND CONSULTING PROJECT FOR SURF TOURISM COMPANIES

The Portuguese Surf School Association (AESDP) is promoting an innovative project, approved by the Portuguese Tourism Confederation and financed by Portugal 2020, which offers a personalized training and consultancy service to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the sector. of surf tourism.


Pursuing the objectives of Turismo de Portugal and the Tourism Strategy 2027, the Surf Schools Association of Portugal is launching the Best Tourism 2020 Programme, financed by the Portuguese Tourism Confederation and Compete 2020, in order to guarantee access to an advantageous orientation and training tool for national surf schools and surf camps.


The 2020 Best Tourism Program aims to modernize management practices and contribute to the training of companies in Sustainable Tourism, following international requirements. The methodology applied is training-action, in which personalized consultancy in each of the participating companies is combined with classroom training, to promote networking.


It should be noted that the training sessions will be valid for the 40 hours of mandatory training per year for companies and will also be developed in order to allocate the necessary credit units for the renewal of the trainers' cards.


With this project, the Portuguese Surf Schools Association intends to contribute to strengthening the country's position as a sustainable surf destination, strengthening and professionalizing the sector, as well as guiding companies and professionals towards greater competitiveness and sustainability of their businesses.


The project will run over 24 months and is divided into the following 2 areas of intervention:


  • Resource Management and Digital Economy: full training + consulting: 120 hours

  • Implementation and Certification of the Management System for Good Sustainability Practices: full training + consultancy: 100 hours

As the companies eligible to participate in the project are those operating in the North, Center and Alentejo regions, AESDP is promoting the following clarification and project presentation sessions:


  • 8 November | 2:30 pm | Porto Covo Parish Council (with the support of Porto Covo Parish Council).

  • 14 November | 2:30 pm | Praia de Matosinhos Tourism Office (with the support of the Municipality of Matosinhos).

  • 5 December | 10:30h | Peniche High Performance Center (with the support of the Peniche City Council).

Participation in the Clarification Sessions is subject to registration, which must be made by email to info@associacaoescolasdesurf.pt
